Try something hands-on this spring with a ceramics workshop at Claywa. In a calm setting, you’ll learn to shape and glaze your own piece from start to finish. The process is slow, tactile, and surprisingly meditative. The next workshops will take place on April 5th at Sottocasa Café in Vimercate, in the heart of Brianza, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on April 29th at Allangolare on Via Ampere from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Vintage Shopping
For a curated vintage experience in Milan, step into The Cloister concept store. This beautifully minimal space feels more like a gallery than a shop, with handpicked pieces that blend timeless elegance and contemporary edge. Anther favourite is Solamente Giovedì, where you will find some fantastic antiques. Finally, Cavalli e Nastri, the perfect stores to snap up old-school designer finds. These are your go-to if you wish to get your hands on unique finds.

The space itself feels like a page left open, calm and thoughtfully arranged. A visit here offers a moment of stillness and a deep appreciation for contemporary craft.

5
Afternoon Coffee
Pause for a coffee at Serra di Quartiere, a welcoming spot on Via Melzo with a relaxed, design-oriented feel. It’s a mix of café, community space, and cultural venue — an easy place to slow down between stops in the city. Other favourites include Cafezal and Fiorario Bianchi in Moscova, The Coffee in Porta Venezia, Pasticceria Gelsomina and Loste in Zona Risorgimento/Cinque Giornate.

Treat yourself to Flowers
Brighten your day with a bunch of flowers from Fiori Michela Pozzato, a charming little flower atelier known for its artistic, creative style. Another favourite is Clori Milano, a precious little world of fresh blooms, exotic plants and homeware neatly arranged by Francesca Assanti, the proud owner. The bouquets are loose and never too polished — holding on to each flower’s natural state of being. Drop in for a quick pick-me-up or a thoughtful gift for a loved one.

Contemporary art
Milan’s art scene is vibrant this season, offering a diverse array of exhibitions that cater to various artistic tastes. At Palazzo Reale, “George Hoyningen-Huene: Glamour and Avant-Garde” runs until May 18, 2025, showcasing over 110 photographs and archival materials from the influential 20th-century photographer. Concurrently, from February 26 to June 22, 2025, the same venue hosts “Io sono Leonor Fini,” highlighting the works of the eclectic artist known for challenging traditional gender constructs through surreal imagery. Additionally, “Casorati” offers a comprehensive reinterpretation of Felice Casorati’s work from February 15 to June 29, 2025. For contemporary art enthusiasts, Pirelli HangarBicocca presents “Improvisation in 10 Days,” the first Italian solo exhibition by electroacoustic artist Tarek Atoui, available until July 20, 2025.
11
Il Labirinto di Arnoldo Pomodoro
The Labyrinth takes visitors on a journey through myth and memory, uncovering the roots of human experience. This installation, shaped as a labyrinth, is the ultimate synthesis of Arnaldo Pomodoro’s artistic and creative evolution. It reflects on his lifelong exploration of archaic script-like forms, expanding into architectural dimensions and theatrical spaces. Originally conceived in 1995 as a work in progress, the Labyrinth now resides in the underground spaces of the former Officine Meccaniche Riva-Calzoni, once home to the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro (2005–2011) and now the Milan headquarters of Maison FENDI.
