Discover Portofino at its finest

Belmond is enriching its portfolio in Portofino with the debut of its first private villa offering direct sea access. But that’s not all—Splendido, the cornerstone of Belmond’s Portofino collection, is also getting a polished transformation. Get ready for a fresh breakfast area, a chic new coffee bar, a retail space, and the highly anticipated Dior Spa.

As soon as we can take our first dive into Portofino’s turquoise waters, Villa Beatrice—nestled upon a promontory— opens its doors to welcome the first guests. In July 2025, this private estate will serve as a new luxury destination where you can sense the warmth of a family villa that has been preserved with love over the past generations. With its historical origins dating back to 1913, Villa Beatrice—once known as Castello Odero—features an extraordinary fusion of architecture. An eclectic style with neo-Gothic inspirations combined with Art Nouveau elements recalls the appearance of a castle.

The transformation of the private villa has been entrusted to interior designer Martin Brudnizki, who has restored the residence with great care, reflecting Liguria’s authenticity whilst adding a touch of contemporary elements and glamour. Key features of the project include restoring Coppedè’s original frescoes and ceilings, marble bathrooms, and a blend of antique and contemporary regional art.
In the midst of this beauty, guests can enjoy exclusive access to the entire villa, accommodating up to ten people, with four suites in the main estate and ‘La Casetta,’ an intimate one-bedroom stone cottage secluded in a citrus grove.

From this idyllic retreat, picture a soft summer day in which you can step from the villa onto a private beach. After diving into clear, salty waters, return to the lush subtropical garden designed by Marco Bay to refresh in the swimming pool. By day’s end, savour the delights of an optional personal chef or enjoy home-cooked dishes on the panoramic terrace, nicknamed ‘Torretta,’ whilst gazing at the sunset over the Ligurian coast. Villa Beatrice evokes the true essence of luxury, blending the elegance of a refined retreat with the warmth and charm of a family home.
