The Hotel Grande Bretagne of Bellagio will be the first Italian Ritz-Carlton. Right outside of the village, nestled between the two branches of Lake Como, the historic Belle Époque hotel from 1850 was one of the first in the luxury category of the area. Closed for over 20 years, it was acquired by the Galbusera family to restore it to its original splendour thanks to a renovation and expansion project.
The renovation plan will be one of the most important expansion projects in the Lake Como area in recent years: 16,500 m2 were renovated while leaving the historical legacy of the building intact.
When it reopens in 2026, it will have 59 rooms and 46 suites, a Spa with an indoor pool, casual and fine dining restaurants, meeting and event spaces. An area for meditation, a path for long walks, an outdoor swimming pool and a pier will also be created in the large park.
