In Rome’s historic Ponte district — between Piazza Navona and Castel Sant’Angelo — the Ponte Art and Design District has officially opened: a permanent hub dedicated to design, contemporary art, artistic craftsmanship, and antiques. Its goal is to highlight the area’s creative excellence and showcase the distinctive know-how rooted in this historic neighbourhood.

The district brings together 28 leading Roman studios and galleries in the fields of design and art, along with top local universities of design and architecture, companies in the design industry, and key players in the high-end hospitality sector — all within one of Rome’s most historically, artistically, and architecturally rich areas.

Its programme includes workshops, masterclasses, talks, and open visits designed to introduce the public to goldsmiths, designers, contemporary and antique art galleries, mosaic artists, restorers, and marble artisans, opening the district to wider audiences.
From October 2024 through July 2026, the calendar will feature workshops on marquetry, ceramics, mosaics, goldsmithing, and restoration, as well as roundtables and talks on circular economy, urban regeneration, and technological innovation. Monthly open visits to historic workshops, live painting sessions, and urban regeneration labs will transform the district into a vibrant space of ideas and collaboration — a living showcase of shared practices and creative revitalisation.
An online platform complements the project, presenting the district’s artists and their ateliers, with updates on ongoing events and booking information.
