An expression of maximalist elegance

The five-star Excess Venice Boutique Hotel & Private Spa is a welcoming space envisioned and brought to life by Elisabetta Dotto, a third-generation tourism entrepreneur who also owns and runs the Ambra boutique hotel in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Excess Venice Boutique Hotel is located in the Dorsoduro district on Fondamenta San Sebastiano, in a Venetian building with Gothic windows, pink touches, and a magnificent, meticulously maintained private garden with centuries-old trees, antique fountains and a small vegetable garden where artichokes grow. The hotel has only 15 rooms, but each one is different. Each is a world of fantasy and contrasts, where different styles coexist, and maximalism is the hallmark of inspiration. It is pleasing and surprising that despite the emphasis on colours, fabrics, details, and decorations, the spaces maintain an intimate, exclusive, non-touristy dimension.

An address for connoisseurs, for those who know how to discover genuine places, those with an author’s signature. In the book she wrote, Elisabetta Dotto defines herself as a “Locandiera” or innkeeper, but her presence in the hotel is that of a hostess, elegant but with a touch of ‘rock classy lady’… always quoting the book La Locandiera! Hers is an innovative and creative vision of tourism; she loves contaminations and instinctively and through experience knows how to combine the ancient and the contemporary, the classic and the design, and by associating different styles, she manages to give an original and very personal imprint… and hotel management becomes fashion, always and anyway making you feel in Venice.
