In occasion of the centenary of the birth of the famous photographer (Berlin, 1920 – Los Angeles, 2004) the Palazzo Reale in Milan will exhibit the ‘Helmut Newton Legacy’ from March 24 to June 25.

This event is promoted by the Municipality of Milan-Culture and produced by Palazzo Reale and Marsilio Arte, in collaboration with the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin. Curated by Matthias Harder director of the Helmut Newton Foundation, together with Denis Curti, the exhibition traces the entire career of one of the most loved and discussed photographers of all time through 250 photographs, magazines, documents and videos. Alongside the iconic images, there are also unpublished shots with a focus on the most unconventional fashion shoots. Thanks to the agreements with the Helmut Newton Foundation, the exhibition, for which a tour of important European and international museums is planned, will be exclusively in Italy until the summer of 2024: after Palazzo Reale it will be exhibited in Rome, at the Museo dell’Ara Pacis, in autumn 2023, and in Venice, in the new center “Le Stanze della Fotografias on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, in spring 2024.
