Palazzo Venezia opens in Como, marking a new chapter for the Villa d’Este Group and becoming the city’s first five-star hotel to join The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). With just 18 rooms, the property preserves the intimate character of a private residence, where history, elegance and contemporary design blend seamlessly.

Acquired by Villa d’Este S.p.A. in April 2025, Palazzo Venezia is an elegant 19th-century residence set between the lakeside promenade and historic Piazza Cavour. Open year-round, the hotel brings Villa d’Este’s renowned art of hospitality—and the prestige of The Leading Hotels of the World—to the heart of Como. Guests will also have access to the facilities of Villa d’Este, with the two properties connected by dedicated transport services by land and by lake.

The restaurant, Altariva, will be led by Executive Chef Alessandro Rinaldi, whose cuisine combines deep-rooted traditions with a contemporary sensibility. A rooftop bar, dedicated to aperitivi and evening gatherings, shares the same terrace, while in spring 2026 the historic Caffè Cavour—an iconic city landmark since the 19th century—will reopen, reimagined in line with the style and gastronomic philosophy of Villa d’Este La Collezione.
