In 2027, Capella Hotels and Resorts will make its long-awaited European debut with the opening of Capella Florence, a refined reinterpretation of an 800-year-old complex in the heart of the city. Just steps from Piazza della Libertà and the Duomo, the site blends centuries of art, spirituality and community, once home to the convents of Sant’Agata, San Clemente and Santa Lucia di Camporeggi, a military hospital, and even artists like Arcangela Paladini.
Capella Florence is the result of a visionary restoration led by Italian firms Rossi Prodi and De Vita & Schulze, with interiors by French design house Liaigre. The project merges heritage and contemporary elegance in a dialogue between eras. The 89-key property will include 10 residences with a private entrance.
Guests will find two restaurants—one Tuscan, the other sushi omakase—a rooftop bar, speakeasy wine vault, and Capella’s signature Living Room. The separate Clubhouse will house a 600sqm spa with hydro pool, fitness centre and café, alongside an indoor amphitheatre designed to celebrate the site’s creative legacy.
