Your escape between land and sea

There is just a gate separating reality from this otherworldly spot. A place where time is delineated by the sun that rises in the morning from the depths of the sea and sets behind the village, creating a mystic atmosphere as you sip a glass of local wine on your private balcony. Borgo Egnazia is a village inspired by the colours and traditions of ancient Puglia where you can get lost wandering among the bougainvillea-clad rooms and suites of the borgo. On arrival, guests are assigned a “local friend” who will help curate tailor-made experiences such as a treatment at the Vair Spa (we recommend the Mascior, a massage that combines hot stone with gentle strokes, lavender essential oil and the estate olive oil) or perhaps a morning yoga class on a terrace overlooking the expansive golf course that extends towards the sea. For lunch, head over to Borgo Egnazia’s private beach club Cala Masciola for a plate of steaming linguine alle vongole. For dinner, choose between an entirely vegetarian menu at La Calce and a Michelin stared feast at I Due Camini. Before you leave, a visit to Bottega Egnazia, a space curated by Camilla, one of the founding family, is always a pleasure. You’ll find dresses with traditional embroidered detailing, handmade ceramics from Grottaglie, both tableware and ‘vegetables’ imitating those grown in Borgo’s kitchen garden that you can purchase to take a slice of your Apuglian escape home.
