Your escape between land and sea

There is one gate that separates you from reality to this otherworldly place. A place where time is delineated by the sun that rises in the morning from the depths of the sea and sets behind the village, creating a mystic atmosphere as you sip on a glass of local wine on your private balcony. Borgo Egnazia is a village inspired by the colours and traditions of ancient Puglia – where you lose yourself walking among the bougainvillea lined rooms and suites of the borgo. Upon arrival you’re assigned a “local friend” who will help curate experiences tailored to your preferences such as organising a treatment at the Vair Spa (one to try is the Mascior, a massage that combines hot stone with gentle strokes, lavender essential oil and olive oil made onsite) or perhaps a morning yoga class on a terrace overlooking the expansive golf course that sprawls out to sea. Talking about the sea, head over for lunch for a creamy Linguine alle Vongole at Cala Masciola, Borgo Egnazia’s private beach club or choose between an entirely vegetarian menu at La Calce and a Michelin star dinner at I Due Camini. Before you leave, a trip to Bottega Egnazia is always a pleasure, a space curated by Camilla, part of the founding family, where you’ll find dresses made with embroidered detailing or handmade ceramics of Grottaglie both tableware and in the form of the vegetables you’ll find in Borgo’s vegetable garden that you can purchase to take a slice of of your Apuglian escape home.
