There’s a secret courtyard on Via Montenapoleone — quiet, lush, and reminiscent of a villa in the Brianza countryside. Here, a newly renovated flagship store has opened its doors, entrusting the entire gastronomic experience to the Cerea family of the three-Michelin-starred Da Vittorio restaurant. It’s a meeting of two worlds of excellence — haute couture and haute cuisine — expressed through two distinct yet complementary spaces on Via Bagutta.
At the heart of Palazzo Taverna, the café is an intimate space with a glass ceiling inspired by a photo from Cecil Beaton. Stone floors, arched walls, and a lush jungle of plants curated by landscape designer Marco Bay set the scene. On the menu: triple-layer tomato toast with pesto and mozzarella, eggs in four variations, foams and caviar, and decadent desserts like a vanilla trio and a fruit charlotte.
Just a few steps away, still on Via Bagutta, lies DaV by Da Vittorio — a two-level restaurant. The entrance retains the original design by architect Piero Portaluppi. The interiors blend refined materials with playful accents, such as Katherine Bernhardt’s Pink Panther sculpture holding a pizza. The star-patterned parquet is crafted from reclaimed wood from old Lombard homes. Chairs by Carlo de Carli and tableware from the “Constellation” collection add to the ambiance. The cuisine is rooted in Italian tradition with a whimsical twist: saffron risotto and ossobuco come plated with rice shaped like the iconic Monogram flower, and paccheri pasta is dressed with seasonal tomatoes — from Apulian jarred varieties to yellow Vesuvian types.
Behind the scenes is the signature of the Cerea family: Chicco and Bobo at the helm, Edoardo Tizzanini in the kitchen, and Luigi Valentini managing the floor. The warmth of Italian hospitality is paired with meticulous attention to detail, striking a perfect balance between French elegance and Lombard character. Following the success of DaV Cantalupa, DaV Mare in Portofino, and DaV Milano, this new collaboration marks a fresh chapter for the Cerea family — and a truly Italian way of interpreting luxury: with honest flavors, authentic welcome, and understated beauty.
