Arianna Occhipinti expands into hospitality

Chaza means “square” in Sicilian — a place for meeting, gathering and exchanging stories — and it’s also the name of Arianna Occhipinti’s new hospitality project set among the rolling Iblean Mountains, in the heart of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.

Naura, wine, and Sicilian identity all find a home in this fresh vision of rural accommodation. Located in Contrada Santa Margherita near Chiaramonte Gulfi, Chaza is an embodiment of Occhipinti’s philosophy, blending her passion for wine with a wider ambition: to offer a deeply rooted experience of Sicilian land and life. Known for her natural, expressive wines and commitment to sustainable viticulture, Occhipinti now extends that ethos to hospitality.

Chaza in Sicilia is a concept of albergo diffuso — a “scattered hotel” model — composed of two stone-built houses: Casa Grande and Casa di Pietra, both crafted from the white stone of the Iblei, traditional Sicilian ceramics, wrought iron, and reclaimed terracotta. These homes are designed for travellers seeking authenticity, slowness, and a connection to the land.

Casa Grande is ideal for families or groups, sleeping up to 8 adults. It features a large panoramic terrace overlooking the countryside, a private pool, a sociable open-plan kitchen, four bedrooms, and three bathrooms. Casa di Pietra, more intimate and nestled around an orchard, welcomes up to four guests with two ensuite bedrooms, a functional living-kitchen space, and a tranquil garden with a pool shaded by greenery.
