Vista Ostuni opens in Puglia

An exceptional location just a few steps from the White City, in the buildings of the former Tobacco Factory (14th century), always a place of hospitality with a long history tied to the local community. It was initially a Dominican friars’ convent, then of the Order of Minims, and later used as a hospital. The current building was erected as an orphanage, a retirement home for both wealthy and poor elderly people, and a school for underprivileged girls—a place of welcome, work, and charity. In the early 1920s, a visionary entrepreneur turned it into a Tobacco Factory where there was talk of women’s rights, the creation of nurseries for their children, and gathering spaces. The factory closed in 1968 and remained so until 2023, when it was purchased by the Passera family and restoration works began, in full respect of the original architecture. The chosen materials include wood, terracotta, jute, iron, and above all, stone. The challenge was to combine ancient artisanal simplicity with the technology and comfort necessary for five-star luxury hospitality.

The result is an interior and exterior that seem to lose their boundaries, blending and communicating in perfect harmony. A total area of 6,000 sqm, 1,200 sqm of terraces, and three hectares of garden designed by landscape architect Erik Dhont. 28 suites and rooms with an average size of 60 sqm each; 2 restaurants (Bianca Bistrot in the garden, open from breakfast to the last snack, with light, fresh and quick cuisine, including vegetarian options, and Berton al Vista, open exclusively in the evening, where Chef Andrea Berton’s talent meets the flavors of Puglia); the Infinity Bar on the rooftop with views of the White City, the expanse of ancient olive trees, and the sea; the Chiostro Bar, where one can indulge in an all-day menu and drinks to enjoy slowly; 3 swimming pools, including 2 outdoor (an infinity pool on the terrace and one in the garden) and one indoor, a spa, a beauty center, and a fitness gym with state-of-the-art equipment.
Open year-round, Vista Ostuni is an expression of responsible hospitality and will receive LEED certification, an international recognition for quality in sustainable design and construction.
