Don’t be fooled by its name—tabaccherie in Italy are known as corner shops marked by the big white “T,” where locals casually buy cigarettes or handle Italian bureaucracy. But, fortunately, you don’t have to be a smoker to fall in love with Giacomo Tabaccheria. Surely, you will also find cigars and other tobacco accessories but there’s much more worth stopping by for.
Housed on Via Pasquale Sottocorno, right next to the beloved Giacomo Pasticceria, Giacomo Tabaccheria reopens its doors with a refreshed space and a new menu we couldn’t resist trying.
This bar reminds you of an old-world drogheria with the charm of a Venetian bacaro which makes it the perfect spot to treat yourself with a gourmet break.
Start your day with buttery pastries straight from Giacomo Pasticceria – if you haven’t tasted their pastries yet, consider this your sign to do so. The nostalgic Pane, burro e marmellata brings back childhood memories and the soft and pillowy brioche are simply sublime!
For a light yet satisfying lunch, expect seasonal dishes like Radicchio salad with apples and pecans or a classic all-timer: tramezzino with tuna and artichokes.
Aperitivo is another great excuse to pass by. Think bocconi meaning “bite” or “mouthful” – Milan’s version of tapas: small gourmet bites featuring taglieri of cured meats and cheeses, crisp piadina with hummus and giardiniera, and perfectly crafted cocktails from Giacomo’s expert barman.
Open daily from 8:00 AM to midnight, Giacomo Tabaccheria has something special to offer at any hour—whether it’s a coffee or a light bite—making it a must-visit on your Milan itinerary.
